Iowa weather: the comedy act

Who would have thought?  I thought we were hitting spring early (or at least I was thankful and hopeful).  We were having temps in the 50s and even hit the 60 mark.  How can we go from 50s to inches of snow in a matter of a couple days?

I know.

It's called Iowa.
We are usually known for corn, farming, and getting mistaken for Idaho.
But the reason I think we should be known for is our frequent, ever-changing weather within days.  It only takes one day to make a drastic weather change.

I wish I had a picture of what this week looked like.  I had a 5 month old outside about 5pm with a three-year old running laps in her yard.  And she wasn't wearing a coat.  She insisted to not wear anything.  In January!  And now she better not go out unless she has boots on....and maybe, a shovel.

Bathroom Remodeling & stufffff

Back in June 2013 when we bought the house we knew we were going to fix up the bathroom.  It didn't come with a shower, just a tub.  However we had to take down some tile to make that happen.  There wasn't the proper drywall surrounding the tub to prevent water damage.  Plus there was a window RIGHT in the middle of the exterior wall so we couldn't just easily put a shower in.  As time went on and washing paint brushes in that bathroom (who cares if we get paint in there?) Jon started to notice a leak.  So we stopped using that sink and figured there was more remodeling to do.  At that point we said....all or nothing. Issues in the bathroom/stuff that wasn't a big deal but wanted to change to make it our own: 1. No shower 2. Leaking sink faucet onto pipes. 3. Copper pipes (updated plumbing needed!) 4. Blog Party! :)

Through Facebook I have found some more lovely blogs that I love to browse! :)  The ones with stories about their kiddos are fun and inspiring.  I also enjoy reading recipes and I'm thankful for those people out there showing me what to do in the kitchen!  I'm newly married (June 12, 2010) and figuring this all out.  I never enjoyed being in the kitchen that much growing up.  I was in charge of washing dishes, and looking at all those dishes being used........so I never spent a lot of time learning how to do things.  Now I regret it daily.
