Reveal Party: telling family the gender

Friday evening was the Reveal Party where we told family the gender of Baby Kaisand!  It was so fun to gather with family and eat and eat and eat and enjoy hearing what people were guessing. I made a list of "tales" that might help people guess if they were having a hard time to decide.  My brother in law, John, of course had to read each one with me beside him to figure out what he thought.... checking how my leg hair is growing... After every one got a chance to guess they put on a name tag (I guess boy/girl).  Then we had a yummy meal of cheeseburgers (toppings from my mom's garden), homemade potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, chips, and lemonade. thanks mom for capturing us with food in our mouth! my brother Kid Table, all the kids wondering what gender is next for the cousins! (My parents are going to need a bigger kid table!) After eating, Jon couldn't wait any longer to hold on to the secret!  Time for cupcakes....

Spaghetti Casserole

One of our favorite recipes here at the apartment is the Spaghetti Casserole.  I love it because it tastes better as leftovers than plain spaghetti does.  And when it's just the two of us it carries for a couple days. :)  It's really nice to make before I know I'm going to be away, so I know Jon gets a good meal with easy clean up. :) Ingredients: (fills up a 9x13 "casserole pan") 2 lb hamburger 1 large (4 lb 3 oz) container of Prego Traditional Italian sauce (Use whatever is your favorite traditional spaghetti sauce, or make homemade....but I'm not gifted in that area yet.) I use about 3/4 of the container. Zita noodles (or whatever noodles you want) 2 bags of shred cheddar cheese (or whatever cheese you want really)  We love cheese, so I load it big time! :) Directions: (read all before you begin) 1. Unfortunately, no belly

My sweet baby would be due in four short weeks . And as I shopped for my sweet Ellie today, I happened to see the sales rack at baby GAP.  In the maternity section.  GRR. During the day I have seen multiple pregnant women, sweet sleeping newborns, and a woman complaining of her pregnancy (due in eight weeks).  However, I would have been due in four weeks.  But I was not complaining.  In the "real world" no one could see that I had anything to complain about.  But every pregnant woman is asked, "How are you feeling" or "How much longer?"  But someone who has miscarried can't cry out, "HEY!  I would be due to have a baby soon!  I'm not big and feeling like a watermelon about to explode, but I do feel like my eyes will!"   And people are not coming up to me asking how I am doing.  People have no idea.  I have no belly to tell the world.  But I hide behind the racks.   I have nothing to tell the person complaining o...
